Eye/Ear Antiseptics with Corticosteriods
EYE : Initially, instill 1 or 2 drops into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) every one to two hours. When a favorable response is observed, reduce dosage to 1 drop every four hours, later further reducing to 1 drop three to four times a day to control symptoms. EAR: Clean and dry aural canal thoroughly. Initially, instill 3 or 4 drops into the aural canal two or three times a day. When a favorable response is observed, reduce dosage gradually and eventually discontinue.
Allergic local reactions to neomycin are usually serious only in patients hypersensitive to aminoglycosides or with a history of allergy. Discontinue treatment if hypersensitivity reactions occur during use. Blurred vision may occur.
